Hi and welcome!
Nice to see you've started contributing to the wiki! It's nice to have a short introduction to an aircraft in its respective article. The FlightGear wiki is however focused at FlightGear and thus the handling/features/history of the aircraft in the sim. For detailed, extensive information about the real aircraft, Wikipedia is a much better place, as you've already discovered.
Copying large portions of text from Wikipedia makes it hard for us to keep the wiki up to date (which is already very difficult with just FlightGear info), so we normally add a small paragraph about the aircraft and then link to Wikipedia for more info. That way, our wiki will have a clear focus on FlightGear, which is what our readers are looking for.
Please don't let this stop you from contributing, I just wanted to make you aware of it, so you can use your spare time as efficient as possible.
