The F-35B is a short take off and vertical-landing variant of a fifth generation multirole fighter (able to do ground attack, reconnaissance, and air defense missions) under development designed by the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in the United States. The F-35 has three variants:

  • F-35A: conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL),
  • F-35B: short take-off and vertical-landing (STOVL),
  • F-35C: carrier-based CATOBAR (CV).
