Structure ?

I was thinking to create this page, too. However, I was contemplating to use a different structure, since we have several types of env vars - for instance $FG_SRC, $SG_SRC are only relevant to people wanting to BUILD FlightGear. Then, there's obvious stuff like $FG_ROOT, $FG_HOME etc And then there's some less obvious stuff having an impact like the various OSG related env vars. It would also make sense to detail how some fgfs related env vars relate to their corresponding CLI args (fg-home, fg-root, fg-scenery).--Hooray (talk) 12:53, 26 May 2021 (UTC)

Oh feel free to completely change it! Very much a stub. The main reason I created it is a lot of new-user facing articles mentioned environment variables and it was pretty confusing (I'm still figuring this out, and eventually I want to get to the stage where there's a guide on running multiple installs of FG in parallel sharing automatically downloaded content - so there will be more feedback/comparisons from contributors and power-users on nightlies. Ideally the normal way to use FG for power users should be multiple installs). Vs (talk) 13:59, 26 May 2021 (UTC)
