The Vought F4U Corsair was developed as a carrier-born fighter/bomber but was not deployed on American carriers until after the war, while the british Fleet Air Arm used the Corsair regularly on their carriers (with shotened wings due to the heigth of the hangars. The aircraft became famous being the workhorse of the marines operating from small pacific islands.
Notes to Pilots
The wing folding mechanism only works when the engine is running (Ctrl-f). Cowl flaps are closed by pressing "C" and opened with "c". A Manifold pressure of 52 inHg should not be exceeded. Cylinder head temp should not exceed 280° Canopy opens/closes pressing ctrl-c.
