I took the liberty of borrowing your screenshot [[:File:C172p-plane3.jpg]] ([http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php?title=File:C172p-plane3.jpg&oldid=88095 perm]), uploaded it to Wikimedia Commons as [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Cessna_172P_over_Lago_di_Guardia_in_FlightGear.jpg File:Cessna 172P over Lago di Guardia in FlightGear.jpg] ([http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php?title=File:C172p-plane3.jpg&oldid=88095 perm]) and use it to replace the 11 year old (!) screenshot illustrating the Swedish Wikipedia article [https://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flightgear FlightGear] ([https://sv.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Flightgear&oldid=33838035 perm], [https://sv.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Flightgear&diff=33838035&oldid=30017525 diff]).
Thanks for all the beautiful screenshots over the years. :-D

Revision as of 20:32, 4 April 2016

Cessna 172 screenshot categories

I added a few categories for the Cessna 172 that you could use when uploading new screenshots.

Over time I will move the older screenshots there as well. See also FlightGear wiki:FlightGear screenshot categories.

Adding categories

Adding categories is probably easier than you what you was looking for. ;-)

In essence they look like regular links in the wikitext, but since they are links to a category, they will not show the link but instead adds the page to the category linked to. This also means that you can not add a link to a category the same way you add a link to a regular wiki article. See the below two examples:

When adding categories to an already uploaded file, you can do like this:

<!-- File page text -->

[[Category:<!-- Name of a category -->]]
[[Category:<!-- Name of another category -->]]
<!-- End of file page -->

Adding a category link anywhere in the article will only show up as links at the bottom of the page.

When adding a link to a category, but not add the category to the page, you will have to add a colon (:) to the beginning of the link:

For more [[Space Shuttle]] screenshots see [[:Category:Space Shuttle screenshots]].

For more Space Shuttle screenshots see Category:Space Shuttle screenshots.

If you think the help pages can be clarified, please mention how on their discussion pages, or if you feel for it, make the change yourself.

Borrowed one of you screenshots

I took the liberty of borrowing your screenshot File:C172p-plane3.jpg (perm), uploaded it to Wikimedia Commons as File:Cessna 172P over Lago di Guardia in FlightGear.jpg (perm) and use it to replace the 11 year old (!) screenshot illustrating the Swedish Wikipedia article FlightGear (perm, diff).

Thanks for all the beautiful screenshots over the years. :-D
