$FG DATA

$FG_DATA is the data directory in the FlightGear installation. The parent directory, $FG_ROOT, is per default FlightGear.

The contents of the data directory is per default the contents of the fgdata repository by the time of a FlightGear release.
One of the subdirectories are per default the Aircraft directory, $FG_AIRCRAFT. A few selected aircraft are included with the base package when FlightGear is installed.
