Hey,

thanks for your wiki edits! Writing info down and uploading screenshots is really appreciated! However, a couple of things that I would like to let you know:

  • copying large paragraphs from Wikipedia (like you did on the IL-96-400 Long Ranger(T) article) is not the goal of this wiki. Just a couple of lines about the aircraft will do. In addition to that you can provide a link to the Wikipedia article, in case someone enjoys reading more about the aircraft. The rest of the FG-wiki article can then concentrate on the aircraft in FlightGear.
  • please upload images with descriptive filenames. I cannot track 1z5hr43.bmp down to the aircraft that I see in the picture for example. Something like Il-96_jet_airways.bmp would be much more descriptive.
  • the author cell in the aircraft infobox is meant to list the authors of the FG-aircraft, not the wiki-article author ;)

Don't take this personal, just some tips to keep the wiki clean and informative. It would be nice if you could keep these things in mind with futher edits.

Thanks! Regards,

06/2010: Image uploads

And while you are at it, please try to refrain from uploading images in bitmap format, there are more suitable image formats, which also do not require as much space as bmp files (consider jpg or png for example). If you are on Windows, you can use image conversion programs like XnView or IrfanView to resize and convert bitmap images to other formats. You may also want to check out the GIMP, which is also available for Linux--MILSTD 17:26, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
