Hi fellow wiki editors!

To help newly registered users get more familiar with the wiki (and maybe older users too) there is now a {{Welcome to the wiki}} template. Have a look at it and feel free to add it to new users discussion pages (and perhaps your own).

I have tried to keep the template short, but meaningful. /Johan G

Redirects

Wouldn't it bee good to also recommend redirecting common misspellings to the correct spelling? Johan G 08:59, 12 June 2011 (EDT)

Right, I'll add that to the list :) Gijs 16:28, 12 June 2011 (EDT)

Rewrite and move to Help:Editing

I am considering moving this page, Help:Tutorial, to Help:Editing and rewrite the left behind redirect page into a tutorial. There is already a Help:Editing, but it is a stub with only two edits, so I do not have second thoughts about deleting it.

As a tutorial it would be about using the wiki and its different features like the discussion and history tabs, categories, navigation templates etc, and would only be touching editing very briefly before handing over that part of using a wiki to Help:Editing.

This tutorial would probably incorporate some, if not most of the contents of the current Help:Your first article and more or less be for those that have little or no wiki experience, and want to understand what it is and how to efficiently use it and contribute to it.

Any comments for (or against) as well as any further ideas are welcome.

Moved the page and started rewriting it, mostly by extending it.
