The Bell AH-1 SuperCobra is a twin-engine attack helicopter based on the US Army's single-engine AH-1 Cobra.

The Cobra is an agile helicopter that was designed for the sole purpose of destroying ground targets and protecting friendly ground forces. The AH-1 Cobra was brought into service in 1967 and is still in use by the United States Marine Corps and many other Nations.

Some older single engine Cobras have been converted into "Firewatch" Cobras for use by the United States Forest Service for fighting forest fires.

Note the slim profile of the AH-1, making it a difficult target for small arms fire.
