Desde el pasado mes de Septiembre de 2009, La [[Main Page|FlightGear Wiki]] soporta multiples lenguas. Desde ahora cada uno de los articulos puede ser traducido a otra lengua, incrementando la simpatia para usuarios no nativos del habla inglesa.

Asi como tenemos {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} artículos (algunos más pequeños que otros) traducir todas estas páginas resulta un infierno lleno de trabajo. Un grupo reducido de usuarios ha comenzado a traducir, pero definítivamente necesitaremos ayuda, para ser preciso: tu ayuda¡ (al menos) de aquellos que hablen más de una lengua, No me sorprendo de saber que muchos de los usuarios de FG son no nativos de la lengua inglesa.

Primero necesitas encontrar un artículo que desees traducir. Luego en la barra de Direcciones URL de tu navegador, añade (es/) la abreviatura de la lengua deseada delante de l nombre de la página (mira
[http://svn.wikimedia.org/svnroot/mediawiki/trunk/phase3/languages/Names.php aquí] para ver la lista) sobre el titulo del artículo en Inglés y ve a esta página. Por tanto si quiero traducir el artículo TerraSync al español, visitaria la página [[es/TerraSync]]. Como puedes ver esta pagina no existe todavía, por tanto tendremos la seguridad de que nadie la ha traducido hasta la fecha.

Ahora traducimos el artículo actual. Puedes dejar los enlaces wiki como están (apuntando al articulo en Inglés), A no ser que el articulo al que apunta este traducido al lenguaje de tu articulo. En este caso tienes que hacerle un enlace wiki como este: <tt><nowiki>[[:es:Portada]]</nowiki></tt>. [[:es:Portada]] será mostrado en el articulo. Sin embargo se prefiere usar este <tt><nowiki>[[:es:Portada|Portada]]</nowiki></tt>, asi este eliminará el prefijo de lenguaje ([[:es:Portada|Portada]]).

Al final del todo en la base del artículo tienes que poner los enlaces de Lenguas, así habrá una lista de selección en el menú. Todas las traducciones del articulos se listarán. Por tanto en el artículo Inglés de [[TerraSync]], añadiremos: <tt><nowiki>[[es:TerraSync]]</nowiki></tt>. En el artículo en español, añadimos <tt><nowiki>[[en:TerraSync]]</nowiki></tt>. Asi la lengua en la que esta escrito el artículo puede ser omitida. Por favor amnten el orden alfabético de las lenguas, asi será más fácil añadir/quitar lenguas.

Una vez traducido el artículo, necesitas añadir un enlace de lengua en cada una de las traducciones del artículo. Visita visita el articulo en Inglés para ver en que lenguas está traducido este.

Since September 2009, the [[Main Page|FlightGear Wiki]] supports multiple languages. From now on every article can be translated into any language, increasing the user friendliness for non-native English speaking users.

As we have {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} articles (some are smaller than others,) it is a heck lot of work to translate all the pages. A couple of users already started translating, but we definitely could use some help, and to be precise: your help! (Almost) everyone here speaks more than one language, so I wouldn't be surprised if most of the FG users are non-native English speakers.

If we all just translate one or two pages every now and then, it would not take *that* long to have at least the most important articles (like [[Flying the helicopter]], [[FlightGear]], [[Installing Scenery]] and [[New to FlightGear]]) translated.

Look at [[translation requests]] for the most urgent translations.

First you need to find an article that you'd like to translate. Then, in the URL bar of your browser, add the abbreviation of your desired language (see

Thus, if I wanted to translate the TerraSync article into Dutch, I would visit the [[nl/TerraSync]] page. There are two main considerations for contributing here, one is using the [[Mediawiki]] software and the other is the nature ofthe FlightGear wiki. The FlightGear wiki is collaborative volunteer written documentation relating to [[FlightGear]], licensed under the [[GPL|GNU GPL Version 2]].

FlightGear wiki is not the same as an encyclopedia or research paper, so there is no requirement to have primary and secondary sources to publish content, unless you are citing something. In fact, much of what needs to be written does not exist anywhere at all!

Original research, opinions, and first hand accounts are the majority of the content here, but please do not plagiarize. If you are going to copy or cite something then provide a reference (like you might for a school paper). Other than that, the standards and specific goals of the FlightGear are still in flux and development.

==About the FlightGear wiki==
The FlightGear wiki is currently small, technically oriented, and international. In addition to all sorts of people, regular volunteers include pilots, 3D modelers, professors, and programmers from around the world sharing an interest in FlightGear documentation.

Articles tend to be about whatever someone sees as important, useful, or fun enough to write about!

==Using the software==

Writing and editing with Mediawiki code (currently using version 1.11.1) can take some getting used depending on your background, because unlike most word processors you can see and type software code used for formating and linking. If you already know HTML or a programming language then what are you doing reading this! If you have just used [[Open Office]], then it is still easy to get started. Try using the formating buttons at the top of the edit window to format your text.

==More on what to write==
The FlightGear wiki has {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} articles (although only a few dozen of these are well developed) and only a handful of active contributors, with most days only a dozen or so edits being made.

If you are interested in working or building on what has already been done:

Currently the wiki has three main areas that need to be maintained.
*[[Portal:Developer]] related- these are mostly technical articles aimed at people working on FlightGear.
*Help documentation related- on the User side, articles about how to get started, how to use features, FAQ, etc..(like [[FAQ]])
*Official aircraft- keeping the aircraft up to date with those on CVS. (like [[Table of models]])

Also, there are the [[:Category:Stubs|Stubs]], [[:Category:Afd|Considered for deletion]] and [[:Category:Cleanup|Cleanup]] categories. These articles have been noted as needing more information, a cleanup and/or other additions. Great to start your wiki-career or if you don't like to start a completely new article!

Other interesting pages include things like [[Real Life Experience]], [[Linux software audio mixing with FlightGear]], [[Current events]], or [[Presentation Recipe]]!

از شهریور 2009، [[Main Page|FlightGear Wiki]] از زبان های مختلفی حمایت می‌کند. از حالا هر مقاله ای که به زبان های مختلف ترجمه می‌شود کاربند پسند بودن را بالا می‌برد.

در حال حاضر فلایت گیر {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} مقاله دارد که نیازمند ترجمه به زبانهای مختلف است. طیف گسترده‌ای از کاربران شروع به ترجمه به زبانهای مختلف کرده‌اند ، اما ما به کمک شما که به بیش از یک زبان آشنایی دارید احتیاج داریم. البته این تعجب‌آور نیست که بیشتر توسعه‌دهندگان فلایت گیر غیرانگلیسی زبان ‌ها می‌باشند. 

اگر هرفرد حداقل یک و یا دو مفاله را ترجمه کند و یا حتی حداقل مقاله‌های ضروری (مثل [[Flying the helicopter]] ، [[FlightGear]] ، [[Installing Scenery]] و [[New to FlightGear]]) را ترجمه کند کار مهمی در توسعه فلایت گیر انجام گرفته است.

Since September 2009, [[Main Page|FlightGear Wiki]] supports multiple languages. From now on every article can be translated into any language, increasing the user friendliness for non-native English speaking users.
===We need YOU!===
As we have {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} articles (some are smaller than others,) it is a heck lot of work to translate all the pages. A couple of users already started translating, but we definitely could use some help, and to be precise: your help! (Almost) everyone here speaks more than one language, so I wouldn't be surprised if most of the FG users are non-native English speakers. 
If we all just translate one or two pages every now and then, it would not take *that* long to have at least the most important articles (like [[Flying the helicopter]], [[FlightGear]], [[Installing Scenery]] and [[New to FlightGear]]) translated. 
Look at [[translation requests]] for the most urgent translations.
== Examples ==
For examples of articles already translated (into a couple of languages,) take a look at the [[Main Page]].
== How do i start translating? ==
First you need to find an article that you'd like to translate. Then, in the URL bar of your browser, add the abbreviation of your desired language (see here for a list) followed by a slash (/) in front of the English article title and go to that page. Thus, if I wanted to translate the TerraSync article into Dutch, I would visit the [[nl/TerraSync]] page. As you can see this page does not exist yet, so we are sure no-one translated it in Dutch so far. 
Now we translate the actual article. You can leave wiki links as they are (pointing to the English article,) unless the article is translated into the language of your article. In that case you make a wiki link like this: [[:nl:Hoofdpagina]]. [[nl:Hoofdpagina]] will be shown in the article. It is prefered however to use [[:nl:Hoofdpagina|Hoofdpagina]], as that will get rid of the language prefix ([[Hoofdpagina]]). 
At the far bottom of the article you need to place the language links, so there will be a nice selection list in the menu. All translations of the article should be listed. So on the English article of [[TerraSync]], we add: [[nl:TerraSync]]. On the Dutch article, we add [[en:TerraSync]]. The language that the article is written in can be left out. Please keep the languages in alphabetical order, so it will be easier to add/remove languages. 
Once you have translated an article, you need to add a language link to it on every translation of the article. Visit the English article to see in which languages it has been translated.
