I just lack any sign from the user community that they're willing to accept that a suggestion or feedback can in fact be dismissed, and that a developer's time to explain why a suggestion cannot be followed is also not unlimited. I have no problem with the users providing 50% of an opinion where the project should go - as long as they don't expect that that opinion necessarily translates into a decision.

Sometimes rejecting new ideas can be painful to contributors who had spent a considerable amount of time researching and implementing features. Some new ideas have been the seeds of a similar implementation by the more seasoned coders. In any case, it is always best to evaluate the pain/gain benefit, and to keep older solutions to problems rather than having a half-way semi-realistic solution. Ideas tend to get the proper recognition in time, if they are beneficial, or are quickly forgotten if they are not worthy. Keep in mind to do this for fun, and always attack the idea, not the person, to keep things calm.
