The '''Van's Aircraft RV-6A''' is a side-by-side two-seat low-wing single-engine aircraft sold as a kit by Van's Aircraft. The RV-6A has tricycle undercarriage, while the RV-6 has conventional undercarriage. The RV-6 series aircraft first flew in 1985 and over 2,500 aircraft have been built and flown.

In the air, the RV-6 has a very direct and crisp feel to the controls. The aircraft is stable at the same time, and seems to be a good cross country machine. Visibility is good all around, and the exterior and interior model are well done, leading to some very nice screenshots. The instruments are clear and well placed within view.

The only serious fault I found was the delay in switching from joystick to view to pointer modes using the mouse. A delay of a few seconds could be disastrous. I did not rest the autopilot.
I did not test the autopilot.

Review

The Van's RV-6A model was a pleasant surprise. Painted in an attractive blue livery, the model really stands out in the air and on the ground. Starting using the usual procedure of Shift+] for and M for magnetos, pressing the s key brought the engine to life with a realistic growl. I could not increase the power beyond 75% but the aircraft took off and climbed on this power.

In the air, the RV-6A has a very direct and crisp feel to the controls. The aircraft is stable at the same time, and seems to be a good cross country machine. Visibility is good all around, and the exterior and interior model are well done, leading to some very nice screenshots. The instruments are clear and well placed within view.

I did not test the autopilot.
