: Mark it with {{tl|historical}} for now.
: I think it only had a very short life. I rarely used it as I prefer more specific templates due to easier maintenance and less boilerplate typing.  In essence consider it to be over-generalized.  I much prefer using something like {{tl|readme file}} or even {{tl|fgaddon source}}.

Link does not work

The Known issues section mention that "It appears that link does not work with files that are not XML." Does this refer to an URL parameter, a former name of a parameter or the whole of the template?

path mandatory or not

I notice that the named parameter path is mentioned as mandatory, but the template works just as well without it being defined (though it of course only points to the default, the location of the aircraft repository), so I have removed the error message and changed the documentation so it says that all parameters are optional.

Deletion or historical?

I've noticed this template is only transcluded into the following 3 pages: User:Johan G/Template:SVN link, User talk:Red Leader, Template:Repo link/doc related. Therefore, for maintenance, can this template simply be deleted? Or should it be labelled with {{historical}}?

Mark it with {{historical}} for now.
I think it only had a very short life. I rarely used it as I prefer more specific templates due to easier maintenance and less boilerplate typing. In essence consider it to be over-generalized. I much prefer using something like {{readme file}} or even {{fgaddon source}}.
