Brevity?

Since the template will be used very consistently and to simplify the text used in {{news}} I wonder if it has to have such a long name, and if the two mandatory parameters really need to be named parameters?

For example could something like {{release date|April 19, 2024|3.4}} probably be just as meaningful.
