: Hi Jan,
: Please ask questions at {{forum link|our forum}}. This wiki is meant for documentation only. I can tell you though that you'll need [[TaxiDraw]] and [[TerraGear]]. Please note that you cannot use Google Maps to derive stuff from, as it does not comply with FlightGear's GNU GPL license. If you need more help, please ask at our forum.

Currently there are two problems with the airport:

  • The apt.dat.gz and scenery data disagree on the location of the airport. That among other things means that if you request to start there, you will not appear on the runway.
  • In the scenery data the runway is level, but it should be steeply sloped.

I wanted to write that no maps have sufficiently precise imagery to fix it, but it's no longer true. Google maps now have good enough satellite imagery that the runway is visible and, more importantly, OpenStreetMap does have the runway.

It would therefore be nice to update the runway using the OSM coordinates and try to place it on the terrain (OSM does not seem to have elevation data). There are also some photos available via Google Maps which could be used to estimate missing parameters by the eye.

(what would I need to update the scenery?)
