It might make better sense in the future to break down the landmark wish list by region or scenery tile and then to individual cities. It would be very easy for the current wishlist to become huge, since there are mega-cities such as New York, London, Chicago, L.A., Paris, Tokyo, etc. which have many prominent landmarks. Currently a lot of those cities are very "naked" in FlightGear, and the list of requests can stack up very fast if more volunteers step up to work on it. (Such as I have done now, simply by naming a few Chicago landmarks alone.)

I'd suggest something such as: Continent/Region (Africa, Australia & South Pacific Is., Asia, Europe, North America, South America) Then by country (+ providence/state/territory/etc.) Then each state would link to a list of cities. The link for the city would then contain the landmark name, location (in lat & lon if known.), and project status.

I think the continents & countries could be listed on one page. If a country is large and contains multiple states/etc., then it would get a page of its states. If a country is smaller, the major cities could be listed directly on the country page. Then in each region, Mega-cities would get their own pages, but smaller city landmarks or other landmarks coulds be listed.

Of course there should be more weighing in on this, since developing a good system needs quite a bit of forethought.

VHHX request

This request is confusing. VHXX is available including the nav tools, despite it's a building site now with highrise buildings next to it. What is requested? The buildings next to the runway or the removal of the runway? PH-JBO 06:01, 29 December 2011 (EST)

The "Checkerboard Hill" is a small hill adjacent to Kai Tak's runway 13, marked with a red and white checkerboard. This was used as a visual reference point for making the infamous 45° right turn on final approach (e.g. illustrated in this photo). In GoogleEarth it looks like the hill and the checkerboard are still there, but the checkerboard has not been maintained and has been overgrown with vegetation. For making the IGS approach into VHHX it would be really cool to have the checkerboard.

I agree with Janki that, we should add this landmark, it is extremely important, that indicated final turn on rwy13 of VHXX. Wish someone add the landmark soon.--Tonghuix (talk) 17:25, 15 August 2016 (EDT)

Singapore

Hi, I saw that you suggested "something" for Singapore. can you be more precise? Thanks! Blackiris

but most important, I'd love to see that Singapore has a city and a skyline.
