I think the page should not be deleted, and also the plane should be included again. The deletion mostly hurts the romanian plane enthusiasts who had a nice exponent of their history available and now it's gone. Sa7k (talk) 19:41, 29 August 2013 (UTC)

Agreed, an aircraft being discontinued is no reason to remove it, or to remove its wiki article - in fact, it's probably pretty safe to say that over 95% of our aircraft are not actively maintained (or "discontinued"), and it's also pretty safe to say that 99% of the aircraft in FlightGear are not as well modeled/developed as the IAR80 - again, I don't get the point of retracting your contributions from FlightGear, regardless of community disagreements over time - we're all here to make it better in some way or form. There's an increasing number of people who think that they can simply retract their contributions once they disagree with the project, but that's not how open source works - sorry to say it so bluntly, but if you were a core developer, we also wouldn't be removing your source code from the repositories. You guys are just doing that because it's a self-contained piece of work, and because you can simply remove the download and ask any related resources to be deleted. It's really unfortunate how the most productive and the most talented contributors seem to think that they can simply retract all their contributions once they no longer agree with the way the project is working/heading. That's a luxury that we simply don't have - by behaving like this you are putting more harm to the project than the people you are disagreeing with, because of whom you are engaging in this public debate.--Hooray (talk) 01:35, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
