The two versions

I think both are the same model.

Currently (Oct 2015) the only Cessna 337 in FGAddon has /sim/description="Cessna 337G Skymaster" and /sim/aircraft-version="v20120429",[1] which corresponds well the last bigger announcement in the 337G development forum.

Neither the aircraft folder or aircraft-set.xml file name (both "Cessna337") specifically mention the model letter. Apparently the aircraft used to be the E model, but was practically redeveloped from scratch in 2012 to become the G model.[2]
