The Garmin GPS100 device showing its status page, searching for GPS satellites

The Garmin GPS100 "Personal Navigator" is a GPS device by the avionics company Garmin. It's the first member of Garmin's GPS series and was first introduced in 1992. While being superseded a long time ago by more modern devices supporting moving map or even synthetic vision features, it is still used in some older general aviation aircraft given its relative ease of use, "back-to-the-basics"-mentality and low cost of acquisition and maintenance.

The FlightGear simulation of this device is currently work in progress, with the initial aircraft it being developed for the Diamond HK36 "Super Dimona".
