A follow me is a car that leads aircraft to the right gate or runway. Mostly used for pilots that are not known with the airport.
In FlightGear, the car can show various messages in its textbar to the following aircraft, which can be an other pilot flying online. Making use of these messages, the aircraft can be guided to its gate, or to the runway.
