FlightGear comes with a set of illustrated documentation, "The Manual", which is available as PDF and HTML.

Note  As of 2014-05-08 (and since few months) the HTML version is broken. If you still need that format, an older version is still available: The FlightGear Manual - For FlightGear version 2.0.0.
