The Boeing 737-700 was the first of Next Generation series when launch customer Southwest Airlines ordered the variant in November 1993. The variant was based on the 737-300 and entered service in 1998. It typically seats 132 passengers in a two class cabin or 149 in all economy configuration. Its direct competitor is the Airbus A319.

The various NG variants are now combined into a single directory, with shared cockpits, instruments and engines. ER variants do not exist at preset, but are planned.
Active Development Areas
- Porting the '3D' PFD from 777 - fortunately it's very similar to the 777
- Creating a stable AP, including autobrake, autospoiler and other automatic modes (auto-slates, flap load relief)
- Creating a working FMC and CDU
Future Development / Help Wanted
- Overhauling the warning / caution systems
- Reworked instrument panel textures and meshes for knobs / buttons / switches
