The Scheibe Bergfalke II/55 is a two-seater, mid-wing glider aircraft. Following its first flight in 1955, the Bergfalke was primarily used as an ab-initio trainer aircraft, but also for competitive long-distance flights. Due to its low glide ratio, it is today regarded as an oldtimer only used for training and leisure.

Variants

  • Bergfalke III: improved variant with a more streamlined canopy, taller fin and rudder as well as a reduced forward wing sweep of 2° and Schempp-Hirth style airbrakes
  • Bergfalke IV: improved wings featuring a Wortmann airfoil as well as a 60cm greater wingspan
  • Bergfalke IVM: motorglider variant with a retractable propeller
