The A340-600HGW is powered by four 60,000 lbf (270 kN) thrust Rolls-Royce Trent 560 turbofans. Emirates became the launch customer for the -600HGW when it ordered 18 at the 2003 Paris Air Show; but postponed its order indefinitely and later cancelled. In FlightGear, the A340-600HGW project was started to avoid conflict with the "standard" A340-600. The project is based on Liams Gathercole's A340-600 model, using many systems adapted from the 777. Some parts are also taken from the A320, the A380 and the 747. The project started in August 2013 by Andino, and in September 2015 received a new cockpit, using many parts from the A330. You can follow its development at Andino's Hangar and on the forum topic.

This aircraft is equipped with IT-AUTOFLIGHT.
