This page is meant to provide a place for aircraft that are pretty full featured and thus suitable to illustrate FlightGear's capabilities, aircraft should feature a high level of completeness (exterior model, cockpit panel, systems modeling) and realism to be added here as this is meant to provide users coming from other flight simulators with feasible alternatives that can provide for a pretty realistic simulation experience.
The FlightGear 1.0 default aircraft come with most FG installations and can provide a useful range of aircraft to experiment with, however, there are other very good choices that must be downloaded from here and manually installed (see Installing aircraft for instructions).
Please feel free to add new entries. If you add an aircraft, please make sure to highlight its major strengths.
