FlightGear Race
From wiki.flightgear.org
Since January 2008 a few users of FlightGear organised racing events. The goal of the race is to be faster than your opponents. The racers follow a predefined track including takeoff and landing.
The race is monitored by (as possible) multiple volunteers. They check if the racers follow the track and don't cheat. Sometimes they make screenshots too. All racers have to be connected to the internet to fly over the MP-servers.
Races are held in the Pilatus PC-7 aircraft, which is a special plane built for racing. In the near future this plane will be changed to a better, more realistic one.
