Blender and FlightGear - some experiences

This should become a small diary with hints and possible traps for beginners.

What you need -- checklist

  • FlightGear (I use CVS in Ubuntulinux with Brisa's Script
  • Blender (I got Version 2.45)
  • An UTF-8/text-editor of your choice (I use Emacs21)

Since I do not make any progress, I want to start in diary format. During these days I already made a "something" in blender, inspired by an advertising in German magazine "Fliegermagazin" I made a bulk version of a Transponder, in order to have knobs to press, a knob to rotate and a screen with text to do.

Okay, right now I spend again minutes on how to find out what is the less imagesize for screenshots. I decided to come up with: 

Taking the screenshot, crop it, save it to PNG. Use pngcrush.
pngcrush -rem alla -brute -reduce source.png destination.png
