Hi fellow wiki editors!

To help newly registered users get more familiar with the wiki (and maybe older users too) there is now a {{Welcome to the wiki}} template. Have a look at it and feel free to add it to new users discussion pages (and perhaps your own).

I have tried to keep the template short, but meaningful. /Johan G

Reason for the nomination: The concept of a University first came to mind to describe a set of activities for encouraging new developers. The concept of a university is a bit to broad and does not fit the way flightgear works as a project.

Currently there are individuals and groups of people working on various aspects of flightgear. I've substituted the concept of "Working Group" because it seems more in line with what we do today and is less academic in nature. A good example is the group working on the C172. Working groups can still study things, but a purely academic endeavor is not what's needed. The focus needs to be the work that needs doing, not the learning that might be needed to do work in general.

While university approach would encourage people to focus broadly on the project, not everyone will want to do that. We'll need people with enough time to work on specifics, without demanding that they master everything.
